DVTS (Digital Video Transport System) is software which enables DV (Digital Video) distribution (sending and receiving) on Internet 2, Multicast (One to Many, Internet 2 only) and Unicast (One to One, Internet 2 and Standard Internet). WIDE Project started the development and demonstrated DVTS in Supercomputer Conference held in Orlando, Florida in 1988.

DVTS runs on various OS and high-quality (30 Mbps), low cost video broadcasting is now possible using just DVTS software, a DV Camera, an IEEE1394 (firewire) card, and a Multicast IP. (See Mobile Media)

Test Notes: DVTS Programmers are working on a fix for lip synch problems in software on PC. I have noticed though that the picture and audio can be resynched just by changing the Decode Quality setting under Receive.

Test Notes: Apple iSight firewire camera was tested and found not to be compatible with DVTS on PC. It was recognized as a generic firewire camera and had a terrible washed-out yellowish picture. Oh well, it was worth a try!
